Paint your own Easter eggs

This Easter has been the first time me and Fletcher have tried out some Easter crafts. I don’t consider myself a very crafty person at all, it’s not something I usually have the patience for but I’ve got to admit there are some super cute Easter crafts in the shops and now Fletcher is old enough I thought, why not.

I saw this paint your own Easter egg kit in Sainsbury’s for £5 and as Fletcher loves painting I thought it would be perfect. So, you get the whole kit (excluding glue) to paint and decorate your own eggs including instructions too. The kit makes two bunnies, a chick and a sheep.DSC_0355Fletcher really enjoyed the painting part. To make some of the colours we needed it involved mixing some of the paints together which Fletcher found fun. He painted them all by himself as well with a bit of direction from me.
The painted dried fairly quickly as well which I was quite impressed with, good for impatient little ones who just can’t wait for it to dry!
I actually found the decorating part quite fiddly and time consuming. It was a nightmare to get the foam to stick with PVA glue. This part definitely required some mommy help. Once it finally all stuck together we left them to dry for a good hour in the window where the sun was out. I think our little Easter egg animals are quite cute and look absolutely adorable on our Easter tree, and we had a lot of fun making them!
